NTL broadband moves to 10mb for free

the report I read said everybody will be forced on a to a 'pay per mb' model if they want the 10mb download....

Did you take advantage of the free upgrade to 2MB? I'm sure you noticed the "thin end of the wedge" clause which limited you to 1GB per day, whereas before we weren't limited at all...

 

Saw it coming, but was hoping it wouldn't happen quite so soon. Still, as long as the limits are realistic I can live with it. Unfortunately, as long as their router is connected to the cable, it's downloading and uploading all the time.

have been with ntl since 2002 (broadband), always had the highest speed possible and never really gave a second thought to download "limits"..... im on 3mbit at the moment, and hit an average of 15GB a day!!!! (i have 8 computers in my house tho lol)

what sort of files you download for that amount

 

i forever having to write files to dvd`s to free up space. sure eats up hard drive space lol

 

in far east they are on way faster than we have over here.

anyone remember the old days with 9600 modems and bbs software. before the internet took off.
