hodge
I think rods / pistons are good to around 600bhp It's the rod bolts that are the weak link. They snap after 800hp. The stock rods and pistons are a lot stronger than that. Jamie made 894 flywheel horsepower on a bone stock bottom end and I made 778 hub horsepower on stock pistons and rods with uprated rod bolts. Jamie has gone for a built engine but mine is still going strong. There's loads of members on here who have made over 600hp on stock internals and still running fine. JamieP
Jamie made 894 flywheel horsepower on a bone stock bottom end. That was a built engine, most i made on a stock engine is 730 flywheel bhp, it lasted about a month or so before a rod bent.

JamieP
Wasn't that on a mile run with a squirt of Nos You are getting mixed up dude, i broke my stoke engine at a mile event, bent a rod, no nitrous and it was only running 1.3bar in the top gears. I also broke the 894bhp built engine at a mile event, i used race fuel with the wrong injectors, O-ring swelled up and restricted fuel and melted a piston. dr_jekyll
so 600 fwhp on stock rods should be fine ?

I can see a habit emerging here though lol.
