i have tried diagnostics using the port and i dont get any faults just a constant flash check oil when warm and running and its slightly low but nothing major

any thought theorys would be great as im stuck skipping gears which carnt be good for my car !

Sounds like a speed sensor issue, try getting the codes again.

tried getting the codes and nothing just a constant flash from the engine management light tried 3 separate times where is the speed sensor located inside or outside the gearbox ?

Before you get too deep into fault finding on this one do this: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?72588-Code-42-Fix&highlight=pink+wire+mod It only takes a few minutes and can save you a lot of hassle.

Also, your fluid should be a translucent cherry red colour without any floaters in it. But if its been cooked at some point can take on a brownish hue. Have a search as there are quite a few threads on here about changing transmission fluid. Normally if you dont think you need to do the whole thing which isnt that difficult just requires a couple of clean buckets and some hose, then most just change whats in the sump.

If the fluid is anything other than cherry red it needs changing. That won't help your problems. I'd certainly drain the fluid, flush the torqu converter, drop the gearbox sump and check the filter as well.

*edit, also you do know how to correctly check the fluid level as well don't you?

TBH when I read your symptoms again I doubt wether it will be your problem, but I know from experience that the buffer circuitry in the odo that this mod bypasses gives some really weird problems in terms of random gear changes, not changing at all and shift points changing. It only takes a few minutes to do and I would eliminate it first. Thats assuming the odometer is the same on a soarer.
