I'll be signing up for Drag Racing at the end of the month. I'd like to drag for the laughs and for the experience of doing it...I'm not expecting fast times etc. :)

I have the best excuse, its an N/A Auto ;)

Hmm if another NA Auto is going on the strip I might upgrade to the drag racing. I don't just want to get ripped off the lads with TT's

I'm tempted to do the drag, just don't know if I can put up with 400hp down compared to last year! :(

Bailey do it, just from experience ensure the clutch is good on the car and don't launch at 4k rpm like me and you will be fine :D

Think I managed a 15.2 as my best last year which isn't too bad considering some TT's were just about in the 13's!!

Do it, I'll race you - what do you have to worry about :D

JamieP - You have to do Dragonball next year, I am telling you that you would absolutely, the next one will be better than the last 2!

Only reason I have a Supra is that they have come down so much value wise, running one is a tad expensive, always was of course but now its fuel costs, in my case anyway

Other clubs seem to manage these meets, cant be just mkiv owners that are skint can it?

Maybe its a sign of these cars getting old, the club scene is a huge part of why i have stayed with Supras so long, if thats not going to be there anymore maybe its time to move on, I cant see R35 owners complaining about fuel costs.

Supras are a kind of 'specialised' owners car and do tend to cost a bit to run if you run them everyday, I go to all the big shows during the year but I cannot lie that with petrol and getting in etc its not cheap. It just depends on if you are really into cars or just into your Supra.

Lets get the numbers up for Suprapod, I fancy getting attacked by some wasps again :)

Just daily running about is £20 per day in fuel alone, I really cant justify that, especially as I'm not getting any real performance out of an N/A for my buck. I'm going back to 'free veg oil' guzzling off roaders I reckon. I'll flirt with another sporty motor once funds allow.....maybe!

Doesn't matter mate. An na is still fun down the strip :)

People think its all about beating the person your next to. But it's not. It's getting the launch and gear changes correct and getting a better time.

I saw some lads at a Rwyb day in a knackered old Capri that was all stripped out. They were ragging the nuts off it and it looked like great fun. They were dead slow but much better to watch than other cars as everyone was cheating them on :)

For me it's more the fear of shagging a new clutch and it ends up being more money I shouldn't really spend..... I think I need to/should get my cambelt changed too.

Graham I went there last year with a Type R that had a non existent clutch, the plan was the clutch would die and I'd get it towed back and get a replacement clutch put in. I did about 15 - 19 runs and although the clutch wasn't great it survived pretty well. You don't need to launch the car hard, it is all about getting the launch right dude :)

I will bear that in mind along with the other offers, If nobody has a bike I can use to race I will have to try and borrow a unicycle.

I've wanted to go to Suprapod for a few years now, but sadly I can't quite afford to own and maintain a Supra yet. I was meant to go down with Liam last year but had to pull out due cash flow problems.

As much as I want to go, I reckon I'd feel like a loner being there in a Diesel Golf rather than a Supra :(

I went 2 years ago in my Golf and didn't speak to a single person. Last year, the thing that made it was the drinking on the night at the hotel. This year, I'll probably just come for the day.
