tony tt
Finally found the courage to continue with this. The project has been on hold for a while after I messed up the body and had to respray... Some pictures to show the progress. It's almost finished now, just have to put the headlight glass in and attach the side mirrors. Then attach the bonnet and find a way it stays up so everyone can see that 1:24 2JZ-GTE That's pretty awesome
SupraStar 3000
That is amazing work. The detail looks awesome! Love the engine bay. Glass always scares me. Its the only thing thats not re-doable if you mess up. LOL Been making a few models myself. Just finishing 4x 1:48 scale diorama WWII aircraft. Getting into the exciting side of accessories now. Was painting teeny tiny bricks this morning. I'll upload a few pics later
DaveR
Awesome! I've got a "Fast and Furious 3" Supra model that I started and part-finished about 2 years ago! Perhaps the time has come to finish it off...?
pbryant_knight
I used to build models and dioramas like these all the time and sell them on eBay. Still have a few bits left. Peter
benkei
Some great work here! I have an old thread somewhere with my 1:24 Supra model on, also have a GTR, R33 and R34. Will try and find it later.
DJT88
So, just finished it. And I must say, for a first model it turned out pretty decent. Although you shouldn't look too closely at the paint, but the overall result is satisfying. Hardest part for me was painting the door rubbers on the body. If there will be a next time I will mask everything off. Trying to paint in a straight line on this scale is impossible. Good fun though! Would be nice too see some pictures of your Supra models(girls also approved ). Some pics:
DaveR
Very well done indeed! This sort of stuff always releases the inner-geek in me! I may have to finally get around to finishing mine now.
Guigsy
Well done. The small fine areas like that are easier with a long thin brush iv found.
pbryant_knight
Yeah, never try to mask off and paint an area like that on this scale. It'll end up looking worse than if painted by hand. Model looks great though mate
SupraStar 3000
For fine lines, tamiya masking tape is the only answer. The stuff is amazing. Pin sharp lines every time.
