Monkpower
Hello people I am at a stage where i'm considering changing my wheels. I currently have genuine BBS LM alloys - Front - 8J x 18 ET35 (235/40/18) Rear - 9J x 18 ET 40 (245/40/18) They were on the car when I bought it, there is kerbing and they could do with a bit of a refurb. I'm after some wheels with a more aggressive offset and have my eye on a set. I was just wondering what kind of money I would get for my wheels. ripped_fear
The problem is everyone knows that these are worthless, plus they are so ugly you would never sell them. i will take the off your hand to help you out All joking aside they are probably worth about 1k
Monkpower
Close to that amount would be awesome as it would more than cover my new wheels with tyres.
Slicknick
Love these but i think they are too narrow for me, i hoped they were the 9j-10j width. Im sure you will sell them no problem mate
Monkpower
I hear you that is my only issue too, I just wish they were wider. The wheels i'm looking at are 8.5j - 10j with either 30 or 35 offsets. I'll probably buy them first and then put the BBSs for sale.
Westy
Agree with Slicknick....too narrow IMO for a Supra...9j 10j would have been ideal!
j_jza80
You can make the offset more aggressive on these without spacers Remove the spoke face from the rims, and re mount it on the rear. Improves the looks of the wheels and gains you a more aggressive offset for free http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/993-forum/629628-bbs-lm-reverse-mounting-the-centers.html Edited June 8, 2012 by j_jza80 (see edit history)

It shouldnt affect the brakes, as the spoke face doesn't change position.
Josh
I paid £1,000 for a set which are 9.5J front and 10J rear fully refurbed from Ibrar As they are, I'd say about £700.
Monkpower
Interesting advice!! I just may have a go at reverse mounting and swapping the spoke faces front to rear. This will give me better offsets and the appearance of a deeper dish.
clay
Hi mate if you are going to take the wheels apart can you fit a wider rim to get a deeper dish.?
Monkpower
I think finding a wider rim would prove difficult and I may as well just get new wheels with the offset I want. I like the kudos of owning BBS LM rims but i'm not happy with the stance and look.
clay
The lm.s look grate on your car just thort if you spoke to ibrar he may be able to give you a price on referb. And to put a wider rim on them to make them look better.
Monkpower
Worth a thought I guess, I know its going to be big money.
Colin-mkiv
Buy a set of wider outer lips.

j_jza80
Buy a set of wider outer lips. They're 2 peice, so you can't just swap the outer lip.

The front of the wheels where the bolts go is slightly curved, so I'm not sure it'd fit safely.
Monkpower
Clay I was looking at the rims that Chris had fitted to the supra he just sold, they look mean!! They won't break the bank either. Two important factors - money and safety. I don't think getting a wider outer rim will be easy to find or indeed a viable option. I'm really curious to try the spoke face swapping reversing idea, but only if its a safe option with the correct torque settings, i've heard that once removed the little nuts shouldn't be reused. DamanC
The little BBS nuts were a litle pricy last time I looked - £1 a go or something....
Monkpower
Hmm £
