Angarak
Hi all, My Supra has recently been sat in the garage for 6 weeks without being started up due to work commitments. When I finally got to take it out the other day (its not my daily driver) and turned on the AC I noticed a problem. The AC LED started blinking and the revs dropped, I turned the AC off straight away and when I got back home had a look under the bonnet. Here are my observations: AC OFF: Whilst having the engine running with the AC off the car idles as normal and the outer section of the Compressor pulley moves freely with the drive belt whilst the inner part of the pulley remains static. AC ON: When I engage the AC the engine revs drop (almost stalling the engine), the outer section of the Compressor pulley moves at a slower rate whilst the inner part of the pulley judders as if its trying to move but is siezed. The AC was working fine before the car was left for 6 weeks, I've run the Air Con Diagnostics mode and no errors are raised. I'll hopefully get chance to look at it later in the week, so in the meantime Im looking for your advice on what you think could be the possible culprit of the above symptoms. I have never noticed any unusual noises when the AC was working previously, nor can I hear any audible metallic/grating noises above the engine noise at the moment when I engage the AC. :: Compressor Lock Sensor (dodgy resistance causing fault) :: Metallic Clutch :: Siezed Compressor Any ideas as to what to check or solutions? Cheers Simon Edit Post edited to replace "condensor" with "compressor" Edited June 7, 2012 by Angarak (see edit history)

Scooter
With it not running (obviously!) reach in and grab the inner part that is motionless when the aircon is not on. Can you rotate this by hand, it'll be stiff'ish but should be fairly easy to do............I suspect you'll struggle?
Angarak
Just had a quick look and cant really get my hand to it with the intercooler hose in the way, dont have time tonight to take it off. Do I take it I should be able to rotate the inner part when the engine is off?

Scooter
Do I take it I should be able to rotate the inner part when the engine is off? I know it's a squeeze on a tt, try manhandling the coolant top hose a bit to get down there........yes the inner part should rotate, you can grab the flat edges of the inner cylinder.
