No, the wastegate regulates the boost pressure, when it opens the exhaust gasses bypass the turbo. viper Posted June 6, 2012 Author Share Posted June 6, 2012 right chaps, thanks for all your in put. I removed the bov and ran the stock recirc valve and its boosting fine now. iv got myself a boost controller so i shall stick that in there and get it running to 1.2 bar as the restrictor plate is no longer in so have been extremely careful not to push it past 15psi just in case. boost leaks are an arse ake.
