Angry Acorn
transmission? its a 6speed? really lost with this! kind of embarrassing, could not find anything on the net other than complete drain and swop of the oil.
David P
The box is full when the oil level is up to the hole you are putting it in. (Whilst the car is level) Edited June 2, 2012 by David P (see edit history)
Angry Acorn
is it the same dip stick as the engine oil? thats what im confused about? or can you check the oil in the box separate?
David P
No. You need to get down and dirty and find the filler plug on the side of the box.
Angry Acorn
ah ok, and if and when i pull that plug i can expect the oil to drain yes? or will it allow me to see the level?
David P
There are 2 plugs, the one at the bottom is to let it out and the one at the top (side) is to put it in. Put it in until it runs back out of the hole and up your sleeve. Another way would be to ask a friendly snail to peer in there for you, or persuade a little Dutch boy to stick his finger in the hole.
