Havard
you have got that right mate, things like this bug me as my opinion its in a odd place and gives no clue . My answer would be to hit it with a hammer. It could have been attached to anything in it's time. I am going for something to do with an after market alarm. SupraStar 3000
My 3 guess would be 1. Radio amp amplifier (most jap cars have/need one) 2. Fog light switch 3. Alarm senior modification (is it an aero top)

Noz
People its NOT a fog light switch. The switch doesny stay on so it can't power a light. Its definitely a transformer button.
Littler
Could it be a pretty insecure immobiliser for if the fob dies?
skyline1
Its not a aerotop so can rule No.3 out suprastar wouldnt think it be a imobiliser for if the fob dies with it being Cat 1 i dont think the insurance company would like that, ill wait till tomorrow to try it out though. Shane
Assuming its none of the suggestions made so far, my money is on it being a valet switch for the alarm.
FOSTA
Ha ha ha I love threads like these lol Yeah mate I think the only solution is to trace the wires back to see what they are connected too, chances are its off somthing that isn't in use anymore. ashbuster
i had 2 random buttons on my car that did nothing, the wires coming from the back of one were spliced in to allsorts and melted all stuck together. the other one was attached to ground then nothing, i had boxes under the dash too lol one was for a jap alarm and one was a remote start which none of this lot worked either. the button could be dead. you can always put some music on hold the button in and see if it dances
Guest JohnSupra1
It could be Nos?
RA28
If you press it, you may think nothing happens. However, somewhere in a distant parallel universe, butterflies are dying with every push
a98pmalcolm
I'd go with an alarm overide switch. My cut the engine as it sets an immobiliser. I have a similar thing fitted to mine so if I cant use my fob I press this button in certain ways and it deimmobilises it ready to drive
