DodgyRog
We are having to cut our Florida Holiday short by a week due to my Stepdad not lasting long enough to get a 2nd liver transplant We have changed our flights and heading back now, but has anybody had any experience with htis sort of thing Just wandering what we can claim for, we have had to pay out a lot of money for the flights and we have lost half our holiday, hotel, park tickets, shows, etc He was in hospital waiting for a Liver before we came away and for what I can gather from my Mum, he had pneumonia before we left although she kept this from us as she didn't want to spoil our holiday Anyway, just after a bit of feedback, before I have to start dealing with the insurance company
Abz
Hey Rog, really sorry to hear this, my thoughts are with you & your family. Insurance companies as ever do vary on conditions so you will need to have a read through & see if anything regarding a close family members death & cancellations apply. Have a read of the link below, paying attentioned to the cancellation part below. They could ask if you knew if he was in a stable condition or not before you left & questions like so, hope this helps. http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/publications/ombudsman-news/7/july-travel.htm
DodgyRog
Cheers Abz, I will give it good read when we get back to the UK Personally as far as we were concerned he was stable or we would not of travelled, but at this stage we are not sure if we were being shielded from the truth, so we did not cancel our trip to Florida
