Imports does it show on the log book

Ive looked through autotrader, and wondered how you could tell if the car was imported or not, is there something on the log book etc that says import? or some way of finding out other than the obvious bonnet scoop and headlights.

Yep says First registered (whatever date it was imported/registered)

if it was imported the same year as it was made, how can you tell?

Look at the first letter of the model code on the VIN plate under the bonnet (e.g. E-JZA80-ALFQZ). E means Japanese market. Can't remember if the model code is on the V5, I don't think so though.
