SteveR
A heat shield separating the air filter from the rest of the (hot) engine bay is usually a good idea. I've never seen an implementation that has been anywhere near wires, let alone caused them abrasion. Sounds like a bodge job.
Thomas_germany
Must be a NA . The wire from the distributor and the coil are seperated by the intake pipe. I feel very sorry for you! How bad is it?

TubbyTwo
Get that filter sorted out man! its right in line with the rad fan blowing hot air over it. At least the damage wasnt more serious.
Graham1984
Not to rub salt in but another fine reason why stock airbox on a NA is the best way to go.
Swampy442
Typical lazy bodge job. As Graham said airbox is the only logical choice.

Thomas_germany
Turbo inlet won't fit your na. And why did you get your NA in the first place, if you want to turbo it now? Grt a stock airbox and call it the day

TubbyTwo
keep other na, stick the stock airboxes back on. all your doing is sucking in hot airon from the rad and engine bay. Drive, enjoy then sell for a TT. simples.
