Nodalmighty
Do the Torsen diffs used on the Supra act like open diffs when in reverse gear going backwards? My wife used the Supra today as I had to steal her VW Passat Estate so collect some very nice seats, but as she reversed off the drive the passenger wheel span up and she lost all momentum (This is mainly due to the wheel floating in the air as the suspension is so god damn hard and she was reversing off the lowered curb stones at an angle). Forwards she didn't seem to have a problem. Any idea's ? Lyndon.

garethr
Even when travelling forwards, a Torsen acts like an open diff if one wheel has zero grip.
Chris Wilson
Yes, most Torsen diffs won't load up in reverse. Buy her a proper plate type LSD, it makes sense As Gareth says, they aren't so hot in certain circumstances going forward, either.
