Suprasteve
I believe Jap manual RZ model is 0-62mph in 4.9 seconds. i'm sure you'll get loads of different results depends on what you read and where you read it !
afreemason
Go on then ..... drepress me more, what about a Jap NA auto 0-60 ????
chilli
Go on then ..... drepress me more, what about a Jap NA auto 0-60 ???? Whats depressing lol? A stock time of 4.9s is pretty respectable for a car that's not really optimised for 0-60, but more for mid and high speed acceleration and top speed... With RLTC and a BPU car (or better) that time will be a whole lot less too
D3xt3r
For some real world figures: I managed a 5.78 in my stock TT Auto with heavy 18" wheels.

chilli
D3xt3r, whats the stock time on an auto TT, its 5.5 or something like this?
D3xt3r
Dont know depends on who you trust. Each magazine and toyota had different numbers so I will just go after the numbers that I could achieve. I hope to get it down to around 5.5 with a little bit of tweaking on the start. My car will be BPU next month so we will see how far down I can get it. Jake
My car was completely stock apart from the front cat missing when it was timed by J-Tuner magazine at 4.993 seconds to 60mph.

JohnA
I find it hard to do even mid-5s in the TT Auto without switching off Tranction Control and powerbreaking (both of which are 'cheating' really) Just going full throttle it can do a 6 sharp, but that's it. Launches are sloooooow
D3xt3r
Did my 5.78 with Traction Control and just standing still and then flooring it.
JohnA
Guess my box is a bit slippery then, it can't do that time just by flooring it. Damn, I hate autos .

JohnA
It's a love-hate relationship for me. Yes it's convenient and less prone to silly damage from previous owners. But when it comes to launches I'm hopeless with it. I'm not happy with the idea of powerbraking either, if it goes belly-up it won't be a DIY job to fix, that much I can tell. If mine was a 6sp it would be doing mid-4s by now, instead of mid-5s (with trailing wind) Never had an auto before, so maybe I'm more hostile towards it, bless it's coolers... mikeyb10supra
Get yourself a high stall TC you will launch it then
chilli
Have to admit that as much as people tell me the supra auto box is good, the 6 speed manual is fantastic (if a bit agricultural, but I like that anyway!). I've not tried any flat out launches yet, got a competition on/off clutch, might wait for RLTC first lol...
JohnA
All supras I've driven have been autos, so I haven't got a clue what the 6sp really feels like. Best to steer clear from manuals, in case I get ideas...
chilli
lol well I've heard that the supra auto box is one of the best, so you can't be doing too bad there! It's a 5 speed is it? Not had the pleasure to drive one, I was 100% after a manual at the time and for me thats the right choice, wouldn't mind experiencing an auto (esp a tiptronic) sometime just to see what they are like though
