fordy_alexsupra
As the weather is getting hot in the uk, I'd like some peace of mind. The engine gets very hot after a 32mile drive and it just seems to hot. The top and the bottom of radiator is to hot to touch. To my knowledge is the rad is cold at the bottom the thermostat is faulty? I have a aluminium ebay auto tranny radiator Cheers, al
ManwithSupra
What does the gauge say?
Swampy442
These engines do run pretty hot, as long as the gauge is in the middle I wouldnt worry about it. And you'd expect a radiator to be cooler at the bottom, cos thats how they work
Dnk
The stock thermostat opens at approx 82c so everything is going to be too hot to touch
fordy_alexsupra
Pease of mind, the needle sits nicely in the middle. Thanks guys, I do worry to much.
Lude
For extra peace of mind have extra gauges, water temp gauges tell you the exact temp of the rad. Radiators are around 80degrees so yea pritty hot to touch :-)
jazz1
I have the gauges fitted and after market radiator read fine, my engine gets really hot to, the car wash man nearly burned his hand lol.
fordy_alexsupra
I may well buy a temp gauge. I know on big a setup someone might have 2 gauges. I will just have one, where to mount on the rad, top or bottom?
Swampy442
Top, that's where it's hottest. But tbh if your stock or even bpu there really is no need.
TT Paul
if you want to, buy a alu top pipe with the sender unit ready tobe screwed in ebay/paul whiffin or the man keron..
fordy_alexsupra
Top and hardpipe, I will keep that in mind I'm only bpu so no need for now and plus I have ali rad like I said. Cheers
