The Raven
Im trying to put a small sensory corner in my sons room as he has autism. Bubble stand, fibre optic strands, uv light, ect. http://www.primrose.co.uk/7ins-acrylic-bubble-tube-water-feature-with-stainless-steel-base-colour-changing-light-200cm-15cm-p-39949.html?cPath=1_171&src=list_name Log onto a fn web site made for these kind of things for disabled kids and they double the price!!! crash mats? Well seeing as your on a disabled site 90% increase!!! Crooks! I can only hope they sell these to big centers and not parents that have to save up for this kind of thing. Im getting the whole lot from ebay!
Nemesis
Kitted out a small sensory room at work (respite centre) 12" by 15". Water bed, bubble tube, glitter ball, sound board, projector, fibre optics etc. All from Rompa about four years ago.. cool 10k for the lot. Good luck with yours, does seem as a specialist market you get charged loads.

SteveR
I wonder if you could make the bubble tubes. http://www.clearplasticsupplies.co.uk/acrylic_tube_clear.htm give those guys a call and see if the really thick-walled stuff would be ok for holding water. I'd imagine the 1m tube would be more than fine, probably the 2m too (you don't have to completely fill it, of course) Cap the bottom end with some more clear perspex and some fishtank glue stuff, make a stand for it somehow (or bolt to a wall?), cheapo colour changing LED thing shining from underneath (or a quick electronics project, should be simple enough).... job done? Good luck sorting it all anyway, I'm sure he'll love it when it's all done .
