Markie
Hi all, Just checking I have the right tyre pressure for my 98 TT MANUAL Front - 245/40/18 = 35 PSI Rear - 275/35/18 = 38 PSI These sound about right?

Markie
Would tyre pressures effect what vibration you have through the steering wheel?
Pete
Would tyre pressures effect what vibration you have through the steering wheel? I'm hoping so. I've just had mine rebalanced and went for a blast to find I'd still got vibration. I checked the tyre pressures and they were out so I'm hoping that's got rid of it. Markie
Can you let me know please RoGuE? Don't fancy driving the soop until the vibration has gone.. Really does spoil the experiance.. Ohh and put my in a well bad mood
Markie
Done my tyre pressures. Still no joy.. Goto be the 4 wheel alginment out.. 245/40/18 = 34PSI 275/35/18 = 32PSI Values got off Terminator in a previous thread..
Pete
Not sure that would cause vibration though? Wandering, bad tyre wear, bad handling charicteristics yes. All the usual questions to ask yourself: Has your supra always done it? Do your wheels sit firmly on the hub centre - in other words no plastic spacer jobby or slightly oversize in the centre? What offset are your wheels? Ideal is 50. Mine are 45, anything above 40 generally ok. Have you had them balanced? Do you know the wheels are 100% true? [edit] just read your other thread - http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=44018 I'm putting mine down to crap tyres. Getting F1's ASAP. D3xt3r
Thats pretty low pressure you are running there. I run 18" as well and the tire manufactor quoted me 40psi for the front and 38psi for the rear. For long highway runs and so even 3psi more all around. Pete
Mine seems much better now. I must have a leaky valve or something - need to keep an eye out for that.
Need4Speed
35psi cold all round... After a serious bit of driving they can be up by 10psi just with heat in the tyres. And no, the pressure will not affect wheel vibration.
Pete
And no, the pressure will not affect wheel vibration. You're wrong there mate. You try running 10 psi down on one of your wheels and tell me it doesn't affect the front wheels. Proof was in the pudding.
