black_widow87
Can anyone tell me how i can find out what size my wastegate is? Where abouts on the wastegate do i need to measure? Am i right is saying that different size wastegates require different springs. Jake
Swampy442
External or stock turbo? Different diameter need different size springs, but springs are also rated or sized by pressure rating.
black_widow87
External mate. At the min my wastegate is holding 1.4 bar straight off the wastegate spring so on the lookout for a 1 bar spring so i can up the boost through a boost controller. Nic
What brand/model of wastegate is it, that may help determine the size and spring you need without having to remove it? Edited May 20, 2012 by Nic (see edit history)
Hellstrom
If you want to know the size you messured the valve. (end that connects to the manifold. Yes you will need different springs as 40mm vill use one made for that and 60mm vill have a bigger even though they are 1bar each due to the larger surface picks up more exhaust pressure

Hellstrom
Just a question is it not operating as i should? Only way to be certain about the size is to remove it and messured the valve. If its overbosting its a sticky valve. If its slow response its a fried membran most likely. Or not getting enough boost you have a bc? Or do you just want to increase Boost? Another thing i would do with those cheap wg's is to add a heatshild between the center section and top to protect the membran abit more.
