Funny that as I said to Mart the other day I'll be on the look out for a Cupra R once the 200 goes! :D

They're good fun cars, look the nuts and with a remap, rather quick also! :)

Bugger you. Hold onto that beast till i can afford it :p

i had a 210 cupra r remained to just over 280hp bit of a weapon but mine did go through a stage of blowing coil packs so its worth noting these WILL be a consumable item so its an idea to keep spares.

also the front splitter scrapes on everything, its only plastic that clips on so another consumable item. around the £30 Mark from SEAT.

also check the footwells for damp as the front and rear door seals are known to clog up which causes water to enter under the door trim and soak the carpets.

check the clutch as well as being one with a dual mass fly the whole lot will need changing when it goes. master cylinder included, don't expect much change from £700.

aside from that mine was pretty faultless.

its now owned by a 21 year old round the corner from me who has pretty much ragged it to death.

poor car.

Agree with that, I had a brand new one in early 2006, and a normal Cupra before. Only problems I had were a coilpack, air flow meter and damp passenger footwell on the Cupra; Cupra R was flawless. Pretty strong if looked after properly. Stock internals of the engine are very strong.
