To add to your list:

- USS Intrepid - Aircraft carrier museum & a nuclear submarine (hms would make it a British ship :D )

- Carnegie Deli: http://www.carnegiedeli.com/home.php (go here for breakfast, it's amazing!)

- central park, around 8am - loads of dog walkers and joggers.

- FAO Schwartz toy store (near the Plaza hotel on the south side of central park)

I went on a cruise around the Hudson, and the statue of liberty etc one evening. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and along with the above list, it's one of the things I'd definitely recommend doing!

Enjoy it mate, its a brilliant place.

Dakota Building - Where John Lennon was shot

Macies - Shop till you drop

Times Square - Great at night due to the screens etc

Ground Zero - This really depends if you have been to NY before (i am guessing not) and seen the greatness that once was the World Trade Center.... if not.... it's probably not going to have the same impact.

Statue of Liberty

Rocka Fella Building

5th Avenue

Park Avenue

The list really does go on..... its an amazing place i love going to NY, try Trip Advisor its usually really good....
