coza
Hi I took my car to a mechanic which is still there at the moment to install my HID lights , he said that he has wired them in but there not lighting ? Has anybody got instructions or a few tips that might resolve this ? Cheers
Nic
First thing to try is to reverse the positive/negative wires. If that doesn't work then it may be the voltage to the ballast packs is too low to fire up the HID bulbs. The ballasts need a minimum voltage to illuminate the bulbs, if the voltage is too low the bulbs will either flicker or not light at all. Test them by wiring them up directly to the battery, if they work connected directly to the battery but not when wired to the headlight harness then the easiest fix is to fit a relay harness (see link below). http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/H4-Hi-Lo-HID-Bi-Xenon-Battery-Loom-Harness-Relay-Wiring-/300654383049?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item460065cfc9 Edited May 17, 2012 by Nic (see edit history)

Swampy442
Jesus, let your mechanic work it out, that's what you're paying him for! They have to be connected a certain way so reverse each plug in turn and see if they work. Also give the plug onto the bulbs a good squeeze, works sometimes. Neil1985
I got some hids and fitted them myself, but the connector pins to the ballast didnt work they way you expect them to. They had to be reversed otherwise they didnt work. But yours maybe different.

He is a mechanic so you should be fine as there is only so many options.
tony tt
Reversed polarity on mine and they worked fine after having the same issues.
L18msy
As above. You should have fitted them yourself, they are a doddle to do.
