fordy_alexsupra
I know this has been covered before 'Oil in the Intercooler Piping' but, 2 months ago I replaced my Rad, since I was under the car I checked my bottom IC hose, the oil in there was sticky and old so I cleaned and put back. I changed to a FMIC at the start of the this week. Pulled the bottom hoes off, new oil was in there and it was dripping from the bottom of the TB hose. So I guess something is failing fast. My car is BPU and been running 1bar+ of boost and I do not race, I only really boost the 1st turbo at 0.65 very rarely use the 2nd turbo to red line because I have nothing to stop fuel cut as of yet. Any opinions? Cheers, Al.

trinitom
I think a bit of oil it's normal, but to much could be the turbo's seal going bad.!
mellonman
Yeah a little bit of oil is normal partly to do with breather system, its when you start smoking out the exhaust its time to worry
fordy_alexsupra
I get a 2sec long puff off smoke at start up after not driving for 2days. I will get one of my mates follow me when I boost 1bar+. Can I clean the pcv's in the cam case to help blow-by?
mellonman
blue smoke on start up does point to valve stem seals worn, black smoke is rich
fordy_alexsupra
It is blue on start up yes! Cleaning the pcv will it help stop oil build up in piping? blue smoke on start up does point to valve stem seals worn, black smoke is rich

fordy_alexsupra
My engine oil was over full by 1letre, I have emptied it out. Could that have been the cause extra oil pressure?
mellonman
over filled oil would burn off so a combination of all of the above might be the problem, see how you get on
Pete
An extra litre in there would probably cause it to try and escape somewhere. Now you've removed it is your oil pressure normal?

Havard
How the hell did an extra litre get in there?
fordy_alexsupra
Just my mistake, I did a service 2months ago (everything).. I can't have waited long enough for the oil to run down the engine to the sump before measuring it. Next time ill measure with a jug not the dip stick
