Chris Wilson
Looking for a cheap fairly modern small laptop to use solely for one standalone purpose. MUST have a genuine serial port. Size doesn't really matter. Battery either good or cheap to renew. Can get collected if it helps? Cheers. Cheap please, nothing exotic required. It will depend on what you are trying to talk to and through what softwarewise. So if you need to talk directly to the serial card you are looking at windows 95. If not then a usb adapter should be ok.
