I no its a long shot but when my mate did a engine swap he had the same thing, it would only rev to around 3/4k I had a look and one of the spark plugs weren't tighted properly, so I tighted them down and the car ran like a dream. Might be worth a check.

Did you connect the Blue-Red pin on the lower fusebox connector? If not, you have to do so. You can locate it on here.

http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?232824-J-Spec-Engine-Harness-Connector-Details&p=3030539&viewfull=1#post3030539

You will need to rework the fusebox and put a 15A fuse for this wire if you haven't.

Was the TPS removed or moved? If yes, it has to be adapted again.

First of all you will need to put it back in position. To do so, you will need to take a multimeter and connect to VTA and GND somewhere on the car. Rotate the TPS till you get 0.6-0.7V on cold engine (0.65-0.75V on warm engine) reading. You will find the VTA pin on here http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?232824-J-Spec-Engine-Harness-Connector-Details&p=3277822&viewfull=1#post3277822

Then put the turn key to ON without starting the car and hit the acceleration pedal to the floor, keep it that way for 30s to a min. You will hear a buzzing sound. Your TPS will adapt to the ECU. Then turn the key to off and then start the car. Btw make sure to clean the throttle butterfly REALLY WELL before doing all this.

Also check the coils for oil/water and if they are connected properly. They are pretty tricky. Of course you have to check the condition of the spark plugs.

Check these and tell me if there is any result.

Hi, i have been popping up to the garage trying to help wewsupra out with this issue.

I do think it has some thing to do with the above from what emperor is saying.

There is currently 2 plugs by the fuse box in the engine bay - 2 x plugs from engine loom and 2 x the loom that going to the fuse box.

one of the plugs fits perfect in to each other. The one - from searching about has to be hard wired to the other one.

one connector has 5 wires - 2 x black and red / 1 x white / 1 x black / 1 x blue and red

other connector has 3 wires - 1x black and red / 1 x white / 1 x black.

This is how the plugs have been hard wired -

2 x black and red wires have been connected to the 1 black and red.

white to white

black to black.

red and blue - can any one share light on this as i've read some where you dont need it but then from what emperor has sed you do.

me personally it is either - maf sensor / the plugs which i have mentioned or the throttle position sensor from what emperor has sed - has it starts up fine revs up to 3k fine and just bottoms out after that.

As I wrote wewsupra on PM:

You HAVE TO wire the Blue-Red wire. Even if it's for the Traction it does power the Throttle Body Motor!!! As Traction and Acceleration uses one and same Throttle Butterfly! You HAVE TO wire this to +12V via 15A fuse.

Thanks emperor.... i will try this either friday night or saturday morning, and im hoping this will make it run over 3k revs correctly.

As for the maf sensor - is it to high or in the incorrect place ? where would you place it ?
