And there you go letting yourself down again.

Letting myself down? How have I done that then? By highlighting that most Man U fans see everything with red coloured specs?

I think the members would only need to go back and look at your rant against Man City using Tevez and your subsequent backing of Cantona, Rooney, Ferdinand et al to decide which of us is letting himself down.

"Paying players twice the highest wage in the league was also a sign of how reckless their persuit of success was. £250K a week is now the yard stick for greedy players. How are clubs that are traditionally financed meant to compete with that?"

This is spot on its a complete joke, the fact that some players earn in a week what it would take me 10years too earn,

I am always surprised at comments like this. Strangely it is never levelled at F1 drivers, actors etc. Why are footballers treated differently?

And yet how many of you fans of teams other than Man City could say you would honestly not accept a huge cash investment that meant you could buy a team that would win the league?

I would welcome it as I am realistic enough to realise that it is probably the only way my team could compete.

If Spurs had won the league after spending all that money I would be embarrased. It's not an achievement is it?

Winning anything, be it football, F1, olympic gold in the 100m butterfly swimming, requires dedication, commitment, self sacrifice, teamwork. The players still put the effort in week in week out no matter how much they get paid. Could any one of us (honestly) turn down 200k a week to play for ANY club that was in with a shout of achieving great things?? I know i certainly wouldn't.

I would turn it down if 1 club asked :)

Read it again, i said that i was expecting people to liken it to Rooney and if you don't think the King Eric was tongue in check, well, i would be speechless.

I disagree. I think winning the league is always an achievement.

But they have a massive advantage over the other clubs. Would you watch motor racing if one car had twice the power of the others?

I will grant you that winning the league is never a foregone conclusion. I was hoping that money would not win in this situation but it has. Maybe I am on old romantic, but I would love to see an under rated club win the league for a change.

Liar!! I would play for Newcastle ( sunderland supporter btw) for free just too be a pro footballer

Ahh well iv played at a high level (not premier league) until injury stopped me at 18 so can safely say I would not play for Man u unless they were paying me a million a week and I wouldn't put the effort in and would rot on the bench or reserves :)

I couldn't play with some of the players and be managed by furgason! But I hear you completely and any other club eg city Chelsea arsenal any I would play for the wages I'm on now or for free if they let me work still to support my self! But some of the egos iv come across at even at lower levels is bad let alone someone like Rio ferdinand Wayne Rooney and so on I couldn't live with it!

From a neutral man city deserved it! Battle for the win till the last kick and that's what winners do!

Thats fair enough tbh its personal experience you have football is obviously goona be worse as the levels go up so i understand where you are coming from, but dont chelsea and city have huge ego's too, balotelli, terry, toure, lampard, nasri, drogba too name just a few

I am with CJ on this, and just money doesn't bring a club up to standards.

Look at the world cup, England have the best players in the country & have trouble against Turkey!!

This goes for other countries too, as a Millwall support I'd love cash injection, unfortunately like most things in life the best things cost the most. So don't be surprised if Messi doesn't want to drop his 200k a week salary to join another club.

This is reality.

Also calling a few Manchester London United fans, the excuses are classic!!

Couple of them didn't even know the game was on!! :D

Thing is though Turkey had the best players in their country too, but the fact is turkey doesnt have anywhere near as many non turkish players playing in their league, (although they have had more in the last couple of years), so they gain experiance in champions leagues or at a high level in the own league, but in our league the amount of foreign players nearly outweighs the english players

And you obviously know them first hand to give an honest opinion of what they are like?

No I obviously don't know them first hand, someone is very defensive today! Also my post regarding being a neutral an for the team who battled to the last kick stands! I may support Liverpool but had man u won I would have given them credit where crudity was due! Both teams battled all season, made slip ups but on the last day man city had it to throw away and almost did hence why I think they battled until the end and had the belief and ground out the result needed in a tough game!
