The Raven
slong as Man utd dont win i dont care. The simple joy of the look on old fergies face when he heard the score was worth it alone.
Havard
Any difference to past winners? Besides Arsenal & Manchester Utd, no...!! Blackburn, Chelsea and City have all come from relative mediocrity to world beaters in the space of a couple of seasons. It's amazing what you can achieve with £930 million quid. H. safcdixon
Any difference to past winners? Not all of them Chelsea would be in the same bracket I think, but teams like man utd and arsenal have been built as clubs over a number of years, this is nothing against the players they have done their job well
Ricky49
You cant say United or Arenal have ever bought the title look at the class of 92, and thats from a neutral. United threw it away in the last 3 games before today

United threw it away in the last 3 games before today I think if you look at then past transfer records, Man Utd held the world record for most positions. They did not continue to win league titles with home grown players - the augmented the squad with money.

Porky1978
Personally i think its been harder for City as there has been an enormous amount of pressure on Mancini to control all the high profile players (Balotelli etc) I for one couldn't be more chuffed that United didn't win it as i just can't stand them. hogmaw
So ManC spent a ton of money and won the title, there's no 'well done' or 'congratulations' necessary. It's like going out and spending 100k on building a 9 sec Supra, there's no 'well done' or 'congratulations' needed there either; you just spent 100k and bought it. The one time 'well done' or 'congratulations' should be offered is when something has been achieved against the odds through hard work and skill. United have never gone out and bought a whole new squad over 2 seasons city only have 2-3 players from before they were taken over
Ricky49
Bang on dude. Id be more impressed and happy if Tottenham, Newcastle or Chelsea had won. Havard
I think if you look at then past transfer records, Man Utd held the world record for most positions. They did not continue to win league titles with home grown players - the augmented the squad with money. The "original" kids team with Giggs, Becks, Scholes, Neville brothers etc gave them that right. City have just been given a massive chunk of money to buy success. I would much prefer to see a team skillfully put together an nurtured the right way, rather than filling the pockets of greedy prima donnas. Kevin Keegans Newcastle spring to mind and George Graham/David O'Leary's Leeds etc. Paying players twice the highest wage in the league was also a sign of how reckless their persuit of success was. £250K a week is now the yard stick for greedy players. How are clubs that are traditionally financed meant to compete with that? Today is a sad day for me as any kind on sensibility within the game looks further away than ever. They got the money through being successful though it wasnt gifted by some bloke in a dress, Racist, but true..!! I hope know the Billy Bigwallet (whatever his name is) can take his money somewhere else and City have to pick up the pieces. Not likely though is it? H. CJ
And yet how many of you fans of teams other than Man City could say you would honestly not accept a huge cash investment that meant you could buy a team that would win the league? I would welcome it as I am realistic enough to realise that it is probably the only way my team could compete.
