Angry Acorn
circuit racing then? haha but in all seriousness the drift gets pretty good when the field is narrowed down to last 16 then the guys get pretty aggressive! still not 100% sure on how the judging works but hey

Boge
Judged by speed into and during the drift, angle of the drift and closeness to the clipping points (or lead car of the chaser). I watched the formula drift show for about 2weeks straight at one point, gets quite good

I also like how its 6cylinder turbo's against v8 N/A's! def makes things interesting!

Source some cheap alloys and get down to any local garage/tyre fitter and ask them for a look at their scrap tyres. There are usually loads of tyres perfectly good for drifting, you will be amazed at what they send away for recycling. You are doing them a favour by taking the tyres away for free, as I believe they are charged around £1 to dispose of each tyre. Now you have loads of free tyres to burn through, so you only have to pay for the price of the day. I would definitely recommend giving it a go. You will also learn so much about the handling and limits of your car.

Well I saw a drift car at TOTB doing a demo run and he was 1 sec slower than the fastest evo so I tend to believe it, after all even the bikes are quicker with the back end sliding, I would definatly say that drifters have far more car control than your average circuit racer. To circuit race competitively you need a different type of skill, but car control is equally important. Don't underestimate the braking aspect either...
