Mad Matt
Funny! I personally wouldn't have even entertained such a pathetic challenger! I get boy racers trying it on all the time, but i just won't give them the satisfaction! All they're gonna do is go straight back to their chav mates and come out with some b*llsh*t story about how they 'almost had a Supra!'. Thats why i never race them, cos i think its more fun to keep tham guessin about what you 'really' have under the bonnet! (Mines an N/A too BTW!) Also, if any revved up little sh*t driving a kellogs cornflake box with spoilers and a 9" exhaust thinks he even stands a chance again something like a Soop, then he needs to have a 'quiet chat with himself in the corner!' Sorry, just hate the little f*ckers, and think they give all drivers with any 'done up' car, a bad name!

Well the thing is i agree, but he was dicing my wife in the soop, i was in the T5 the fact that she is an ace driver and he blew something will make him realise you cant take on any modded car......he he

If he agrees than you better start doing some modifications cause he wont race less he knows he can win....LOL
Mad Matt
Plus... the Chav SRI, was only a 2.0 8v OHC, so not all that blisteringly quick anyway! Even an N/A would nail him! Unless its a '94 onwards lump, in which case, its a 16v, but still an Ecotec block, so not much quicker than an old 8 valve! Anyway, its not a Soop! I'd rather push a Soop than drive a Chavalier or a Chav powered Corsa!

Would have loved to have heard the conversation that followed in his car when that happened! LOL! I've had to show a couple of little boy racers 'the way its done', so i'm not entirely innocent! Mad Matt
Yes, beware of the 2.0 16v 'red top'! Now that was, and still is, a VERY quick engine! They put them in Caterham's n stuff like that! That was when Vauxhall REALLY knew what GSI or GTE meant! Before all this economical environmentally friendly rubbish!
Guest chiefvinso
I had an astra GTE 16v, engine was great - chassis was rubbish. I also had what looked like a normal nova (1.2) giving me some many years ago. I was 98% (its was v wet and my fronts were slicks) gunning my Rover 220 GSi Turbo and at 145 leptons and he came past me like I was standing still. These transplants might be ok in a straight line but they understeer like hell plus his car still looked like a 1.2 flair or something. JohnA
There are Corsas with 2litre turbos up front, once they get traction it's bye bye. They are the exception though, and most of the time those are off the road with mechanical problems. Most 'sooped up' corsas are turbo wannabes. Mad Matt
Damn those infernal Little Scamps with too much of Daddys money to spend on Nova's and Corsa's sending them into Hyperspeed! Bet they're still ony insured as 1 litre's or 1.2's though! When it comes to looks and road presence though......... WE WIN HANDS DOWN GUYS!!! John_M
plus his car still looked like a 1.2 flair or something thats the appeal to some people Street sleeper. Guest chiefvinso
Street sleeper. Had a mate a good few years back that had an old "builders" Escort van with full Cosworth engine & running gear fitted in it . I suppose its whatever takes your fancy and it is a shock when a car that looks like a run of the mill car goes past you! But now I'm older and can afford Soop, so I get the power and the looks and even more power if I spend what they do on their novas, escorts etc.
JohnA
I love sleepers, I now miss the element of surprise I had with the Calibra... It looked like a POS, rusty, dirty numberplates, the lot. Filthy. Dead stock on the outside, no badges, no fancy wheels, nothing. Then the odd M3 would try it on, he he... It was even funnier in the wet, the traction at low speeds made the difference even more pronounced, aw well, Rust In Peace...
Guest Xs987
ive got a corsa 2.0 16v redtop as my 2nd car, built it up from scratch, sitting around 170-180bhp it will beat alot of things on the road, v.quick cars but struggles to get traction, subaru's are fun will beat a UK spec turbo i know my TT would blow it away tho
