magicmatty
Following the saga of my Insurance job not being good...Ive just had the inspector round to examine the car. Nice enough bloke, definately knows his stuff, however. He has agreed to allow the original bodyshop to respray the wing, again! and refit the bumper, again! He thinks they have actually done the best they can do, but the bumper is at fault. He assures me the finish, will never be 100% and Toyota will not accept the bumper back, now its been painted.!!WTF Parts of the bumper (post pics later) are rounded nicely and on the other side, flat or even convex... He reckons the bumpers are faulty, but, theres probably nothing that can be done Am I alone in thinking thats not on??? Someone must be at fault Cr4p
Pete
The body shop should've identified it as faulty. Who supplied it to them? If they picked it up themselves then it's definately their fault for accepting faulty goods.
BigRoy
Don't accept it until your happy with it. It MUST be put back to how it was pre accident, thats the whole point of the insurance. Just be persistant.
tbourner
My paint is now cracking where the heatshield has been nicked by the body shop, I reckon it's too late to go back now though it was done months ago!!
magicmatty
Parts came from TNS (Toyota?) I think they are near/in St Ives.... All work should carry a 3 year warranty BTW..
Soop Dogg
Tell him the insurance company are under contract to 'indemnify' you following this damage. That means they have to put you in the same position you were in before the damage occurred. Therefore by definition, this can't be the end of the story. We can show them some other bumpers that have been done properly if you like! We're not too far away. Invite him to one of our meets!!! magicmatty
Thanks - will have to wait and see what job the "Bodyshop" do this time... They are certainly not going to fix the bumper - its not right to start Thanks for the offer though
Willson
Tell him the insurance company are under contract to 'indemnify' you following this damage. That means they have to put you in the same position you were in before the damage occurred. Thats such a crock though. You still end up with an accident repaired car. They should fix it AND give you some money imo (not very realistic I know).

magicmatty
Funny you say that 'cause a pal of mine works the parts department at Bury Toyota, when I forst got the supe, He saw it and assured me that they DID make a UK NA ?? WTF i said, I dont think so but he's adamant they did.. Also, the insurance guy tells me the inflated prices etc all count towards expensive import parts.. Is my Front Bumper really that different from the UK model or the same??? apparently people are always telling im they have noproblem getting parts, only the bodyshops appear to be stupid.....
