Septic
If you guys haven't already done so, you have to check this phone out; it is amazing. I went into Carphone Warehouse and the moment I saw the phone I knew I had to have it. It makes my Desire HD look like an old brick in comparison! It is so sleek, unbelievably light and its display is something that needs to be seen to be believed. Honestly, the picture clarity is so good I thought at first there was a sticker stuck on to the screen! It has a HD screen (720p) which is HUGE and streaming Netflix on it is brilliant. With a quad core processor, it is a beast in terms of technical specs. I know the Galaxy S3 is out soon and that looks even more technically impressive but I am a vain sod; the One X (especially in white) is really sleek. I'm going to get the wireless HDMI adapter so I can stream content from my phone onto my TV/PC. The only downsides are; the battery life (HTC need to sort this out), the battery isn't removable (which explains why the phone is so light) and no SD slot (why??). But I'm willing to forgive its shortcomings because honestly, it is an amazing phone.
davis6110
I totally agree as i got this phone the day it came out, its is stupidly fast etc..... well everything you said above really, and with the android marketplace becoming better and better i would say its better than the iphone now, the only reason the iphone is rated as better is the fact your paying for a designer label just like clothes. BUT i do have one problem, the other day i had it in my pocket all on its own after messing round with it on the sofa i had put it in my pocket, i then took it out again and the screen was shattered, this is the gods honest truth, i never touched it or moved or anything, i dont know what caused this to happen as i have never dropped it or anything, but my cantractors are willing to replace to phone for free as they dont make screens for these yet, but this has not deterred me from getting another one

It does feel really delicate though. Last year my HTC Desire was faulty (overheating mobo which kept restarting the phone) and HTC were messing me around with repairs (two months of me chasing them up) so I sent them a letter from my law firm's letterhead and they gave me a HTC Desire and HTC Desire HD so if the same happens again, I'll be writing to them in the hope that I get two of these beauties The current generation of iphones have NOTHING on this. Compare the two side by side and it feels like a generational leap. Although with that being said, if anything, I feel that the Galaxy S3 and this phone will prompt Apple to release the iPhone 5 and that will probably be in another league if past trends are anything to go by. Abz
It has a quadcore processor what do you expect? My colleague manages until 8pm & then he has to charge his each day!! My wife's GS2 is similar, I was told to exercise the battery by letting it go flat & then charging it back up again but it hasn't improved the battery life yet. My 2.5 year old iPhone 3GS still makes a weekend without charge and I have managed to do 4 kick ups with it (a challenge we have at work). There is no way my phone would even last the whole day let alone two. That's why I have a charger at home, in my car and at work
CJ
I have a 3GS and feel the new HTC and Samsung would be wasted on me as I doubt I would ever fully utilise its capabilities.
creative
I have a 3GS and feel the new HTC and Samsung would be wasted on me as I doubt I would ever fully utilise its capabilities. I have to agree with you there CJ. With your... Ummmm. ..Technical abilities.. the iphone is perfect for you. It just works and you dont have to fiddle with it too much. I have been tempted by the one but havent taken the plunge yet as i really want an S3 but even then, that depends on the build quality (s2 is crap imho) I also think that custom roms are already being released for the one now. The world of android moves very fast! I jail broke my ipad the other day.... Wanted to see what all the fuss is, and if this is what the apple fanbois rave about then i am glad i am in the android camp! I also love how people rant about battery life. These things are like pocket pcs now. If you get a smartphone, dont expect great battery life. I would be lucky to get 8 hours out of mine with normal use. I just keep a cable at work and in the car, simple. I laugh at some of the people on xda that crave long batterytimes by switching everything off, just to get more than a day out of it... Daft! Im rambling now... What was the question?
Monkpower
I have the HTC Sensation XE and the battery lasts a couple of days max. Wish it would last longer but it is an awesome device!
Attero
I hadn't heard much about the one x but I know its one of the leading phones now. I have a sensation and although I think its a brilliant phone I think I might convert to Samsung next year on my renewal. I hate that the best phones always get released half way through my contracts.
Josh42
I'm an iPhone person and always will be due to the ease of use of an apple product and the functionality, however played on my mum's HTC One S the other day and was amazed at the graphics and accuracy of the touch screen. Thorin
I'm looking at the HTC One S as my next phone, the One X and the SGS3 are just getting too big for me.
Digsy
the battery isn't removable Can I ask a dumb question? With my old HD2 I have to force a soft reset about once a month by taking the battery out. How would one do that on this phone? Is there a reset button hidden somewhere?
listy
Waiting out on the Galaxy S3! I could have upgraded in march, but last time I upgraded, the s2 came out 3 weeks later! So this time I'm waiting for the phone I will undoubtedly want

ubersonic
Currently waiting on the Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX (could they have picked a longer name?) to replace my 3GS, comes out in a week or so *excited*

I thought of that but that means the OS has to be still running in order to recognise that those buttons have been pressed. If I have to reset mine its usually because it has completely stopped responding.

st3ven1
Seems a pretty good deal, for such a new phone: Linky Free HTC One X in Black 300mins 3000texts 500MB £36 a month, but crucially a 12 month contract. Due an upgrade now, so might just see if my current provider will match this.

DonDavidson
pretty much agree with everything said about the HTC so far, i've had mine for just over a week and its scary good, i jumped from the HTC Desire which i considered to still be a decent handset at the time to the One X and good lord i just about Mansploded when i rented Iron Man for 5p from the HTC Watch App and tested that screen quality! Don't think i'll be disappointed with this phone...ever, not counting the battery of course, can you imagine how bad the battery will be in a years time? don't even want to imagine that! Edit: While i'm here, how the heck do i buy my owner club membership? i cant see a link/thread for it anywhere??
creative
Well, i just got mine. Decided not to go for the s3 as they still havent anounced an AU launch date. First impressions are good but the only had it a few hours..
