Samurai 20V
Hi all. I had the clutch changed on my BPU TT6 recently, I fitted the single plate TRD clutch and pressure plate(incl release bearing) When I changed it the shop said the flywheel is fine, but it has started to develop a rattle. It is mainly on idle, if you press the clutch then the noise disappears.. The gearchange is also getting a bit clunky, especially when cold.. I assume it is the flywheel as it is the only item that was not changed.. Should I just leave it be? Will it effect the car in any way? If I change should I change the clutch plate as well or should I keep the current one (only has abt 5000kms on it).. Thanks in advance. Tyson
im not 100% about the trd clutch but alot of uprated clutches are noisey and rattle at idle I was going to say this but it would the perfect excuse to get a lightened one
Digsy
If you get a lightened flywheel then everything else will rattle
Jamesy
I have an HKS twin plate clutch with an HKS lightweight flywheel and every time you press the clutch it rattles like a mo-fo!! If anything its a good incentive to change gears even faster
Samurai 20V
Thanks for the replies guys. Its a TRD Single plate clutch, basically a strengthened stock clutch, so it should not rattle at all.. I am just concerned that if the flywheel is on its way out, it might cause other damage?
