antno
Hi I've got a tt6 and have taken the front pulley off. It has a small crack around the rubber dampened bit. I know while it's off it's probs best to change it but do most people change them when they start slipping rather when they start cracking. It's only done 50k but is 16 years old? Cheers antno
Colin-mkiv
If you've noticed that it has started to fail, would you be comfortable driving the car with it fitted?? I'm thinking not, considering the damage that they can do when they liberate themselves inside your engine bay. I think you should get a new one now and save the extra expense later mate. Swampy442
Do the tipex test, that will tell you if you have any problems.

Nic
If it fails the outer ring can fly off and cause damage to the radiator and other components in the area, I'd definitely replace it now with a new one.
