Marcus GTE
Good thread mate. I'll be doing the same for mine in May! Apparently it's up to me to book it as well....no pressure then! You can take all the credit when it's You that books the holiday of a lifetime then Ian lol. Feel free to jump in mate, we are both in the same boat so it's good to get other peoples opinions on places

Marcus GTE
Anyway I went to Fiji for my honeymoon it was beautiful but the service was rubbish so would not necessarily reccomend it.. Maldives for pure romantic beauty would be my reccomendation. Or Tokyo and get some JDM parts while you are there and see the cherry blossom in the spring! Maldeeves looks incredible, id just be worried there wouldn't be too much to do as they are really remote. Can't have everything in the one place I guess. The rooms over the water with plunge pools look so good. I think some people do a week there at a place like that, then a week somewhere else. I'd be up for something like that but think it would become too expensive.
Marcus GTE
If you want to go somewhere where there is plenty to do I would go to Costa Rica. We stayed in Tamarindo which is Westernised with big 4* and 5*hotels. It is a good staging post for travelling around the country. We paid for an all inclusive 5* hotel for 2 weeks and only stayed there for 4 nights as we travelled all over the country and into Nicaragua to see all the wonderful sites. Basically on the coast it was stupidly hot and warm, so good for the beach relaxing holiday, but then you can go to the active volcanoes, rain forests, do white water rafting etc.. There is so much to do and the country is amazing especially if you like wildlife, the bio diversity is one of the highest on the planet. It's the best holiday I have ever had and I would go back in a heartbeat. With a statement like that I will deffo be checking out costa rica, one I would have never thought of. Cheers! Marcus GTE
Ian btw, if you haven't been to mexico before I'd strongly reccomended looking at the myan Rivera, it's an amazing place, hotels the size of Glasgow city centre with ancient ruins to visit as well as lots of parks like xcaret, explor, and xel ha. That and the people and weather are great. Few us dollars go quite far there too.
Delboy52
Went to Zanzibar for my 30th with the wife. We really enjoyed it. Stayed at a place called Kendwa Rocks in the honeymoon suite. Warm Indian ocean, white icing sugar sand, very nice. Hired a 4x4 and teared up the island for a day going through local villages and foresty areas. Scuba diving, snorkelling etc. Good alternative to the Maldives if that's the kind of thing your looking for, just not as luxuirous.
