Reporting a drink driver?

Right what it is there is a guy i work with who is a dick! he comes to work most friday mornings still smashed (drunk) from the night before, he usually gets home about 4am friday morning and comes to work about 7:40am , obviously he is still steaming and over the limmit! my boss should send him home in my opinon but never does!

the thing that does me is that he is driving over the limmit, i wanna report him but dont wanna waste police time, would they have to catch him in the car...cant just ring them and tell them he has drove to work still drunk from the previous night can i? keep thinking i could ring them and tell them its a regular thing and see if they wanna wait on my works road and keep a eye out but are they actually bothered about this stuff? i think the guys licence would be taken off him if they caught him but i if he has a accident and kills someone id feel to blame as i knew he did it but didnt do anything about it.

whats your opinions?

Next time he comes to work drunk, nip out to the nearest call box and make an anonymous 999 call saying you've just been knocked off your push bike by a car swerving all over the place and it looked like the driver was drunk. Tell them the reg number and that you saw him go into wherever you work.

Worth a try?

Ahh good idea there chap, no call boxes near my work though and i know these days they can trace the calls to mobiles cant they?

Could do, but why would someone who has been knocked off his bike call anonymous? Id want compensation lol

The anonymous call thing is a good idea though. Just report it as dangerous driving, give them the reg plate, and when they go to pick him up, he'll wreak of booze, breathalise, fail, busted!

Report him. If your aware he's drink driving regularly and don't do anything about it then your going to feel just as guilty if/when he hits someone. Don't worry about the effects it has on his personal life, lose his job etc. think about the effects it could have if he mounts the curb and mows down an innocent pedestrian.

All my opinion of course, but this how I would justify reporting him.

Definitely tell them this.

I've seen on the tv the police waiting for people who've already been banned who they suspect are driving again, you cannot get much worse than drink driving.

now that is a waste of police time they would have to do a full investigation and as there is no bike it wouldnt get anywhere in court, best to call the police and ask what to do about it, or just have words with the guy

He would and does stink of booze every friday morning so they would deffinately bust him. there is no CCTV outside my work though so i guess there would be no evidence of him driving to work.... even though his car would be outside. have they got to catch him in the car? thats the problem.

I went to the bluewater meet last night and on my way back got stuck behind someone who was steaming drunk, He couldn't keep any sort of control of his car and hit /mounted the curb a few times and couldn't keep any constant speed. He slowed right down then sped up and when I came around a corner he had smashed his car up and rolled through a tree and a few bushes ect as it turned out he was 17/drunk and had stole his mums car and seemed to think I was the police and was trying to escape.

Regardless of all this people drunk shouldn't be on the roads as thankfully this idiot was on his own but I could of and would of normally overtaken but if he had swerved and hit me I due to thinking I was the police or just due to being smashed he could of killed me and my mate along with himself and any other traffic.

The car is an absolute wreck and I would of taken a photo earlier at the recovery yard but it had a cover over it at the moment but to be frank you would not expect anyone to have survived.

Drunks really feck me off , they just dont think how much it ruins peoples lives, end of the day he knows he shouldnt be driving but he is that brain dead he doesnt think about if he loses his licence.

so the best thing for me to do is just call the local police station and expaln that its a regular thing and see what they are willing to do?.

Exactly, I even had the guy last night try and have ago at me because I had called the police and an ambulance even though his car resembled a stomped on coke can.

This happened in the building next to us at work we would see the bloke sitting in his car at lunch times drinking out the bottle very stupid as he was very obvious about it, in the end someone from our company made a tip off I guess it was to the non emgergency number and traffic pulled him over one day while leaving work , apparently the car was filled with empty bottles and he got banned I still see him working there but always on foot now .

That was the plan if he had hit my car actually.... Good night though as after that someone ignored me trying to flag them down to stop them hitting the tree and he swerved around me at full pelt run over the lights and debris and then locked up when he saw the tree I was trying to warnn him about... Which he nearly smashed into my car..... Then someone nearly smashed into the back of me and to top the night off some **** in a AA van moved the tree and started to try and drag it around and against my car. Annoying night.com

This is a disaster waiting to happen!

Yes.

I would be telling the police straight away, I don't think there's much choice really. Imagine if you didn't do anything and he smashed into another car, cyclist, pedestrian etc.

Much better going down to the police station and speaking to someone face to face.

Personally I would give the Police the information you have and let them deal with it.

If Friday morning is a regular problem then where is he going on a Thursday night? Does her drive then etc?

I have no patience for DD and serial offenders. It is only a matter of time before he is involved in an incident and it's a lottery as toi who comes out worse. Is you boss aware that he is drink driving?

H.

Beating a new born baby to death with a s***-smeared dildo would be much worse than drink driving.

Just saying.

Why not just ring them or go in and say what you've said here? Just tell them what you know, they'll decide when to come and lie in wait for him. You could say you feel crap about grassing someone up but you hate the thought of him having an accident and hurting innocent people, or worse.
