David P
A coarse fishing rod licence costs £38 and if you're caught without one you may be fined £2,500. Manslaughter by dangerous driving is also £2,500, so if ever you’re caught without one you could save yourself £38 by mowing the bailiff down. neil tt
Anyway for the government to make more money, and make life that little less enjoyable
David P
The Revenue generated from Coarse fishing rod licences is spent between employing Bailiffs to enforce them and the improvement of Salmon and Trout rivers, benefiting Politicians pals to charge more for anglers to fish them. uk.gov.spitroasting

David P
Pasty Tax. Need I say more!!! Maybe it works out cheaper to mow the VAT man down too?
Noz
Well everyone is voting Labour back in. UK cleary has NO idea what to do on the issue. Everyone keeps voting in government that they moaned about a few years before. Give a new party a chance I say.
David P
They all smell the same, best way is to always vote for the opposition to keep them on their toes.
Noz
Na vote in new. Only be making the same old mistakes anyway. UKIP all the way
RCK10
It seems pretty daft that you need a licence to fish. I had to get one last year when we went down to woodlands. Luckily we don't have that problem up here
j_jza80
Local elections are a different ball game to general elections though, I can't see many voting for Milliband in a general election, the bloke is a complete tool. I'm no Labour voter, but to be fair his brother would probably make a good prime minister (or at least better than Ed and Clegg, probably even Cameron) If I vote next time, it will probably be UKIP, I've lost all confidence in the main parties, they're all useless. I can see UKIP giving the LibDems a hiding in the next election, and wouldn't be too suprised if we saw a coalition with UKIP and Conservatives. I know it was only local electons, but still makes a big impact on the main electons, alot of people go with the winning government due to thinking that it's better for all people. Shame only 30% of people actually voted.
neil tt
In 35 years of fishing I have never meet a bailiff on the bank, it seems only go to improve salmon fishing, and catch people trying to steal them
David P
What do UKIP have to say about the price of a Coarse Fishing Rod Licence?
Noz
UKIP sounds close to the name of a fish. I think thats a valid point to raise. Actually, just to make this more valid, UKIP actually have a fishing policy. http://www.ukip.org/content/ukip-policies/2342-fishing-ukip-policy
Tricky-Ricky
I was going to start coarse fishing again when i move up to Norfolk, but at £38, goes off to see which party has a fishing manifesto.
