SilentAgro
As the weather seems very pleasant today. I thought I would go for a nice drive around Buckingham. All was good, apart from the bumpy uneven roads nearly everywhere I went. I was really enjoying myself... until I go over a slight bump and everything goes dead. Engine and all electrics completely gone. It was brown trouser moment driving down country roads with no power steering. I was lucky enough be able to pull off the side of the road. I was sitting thinking.. This is going to be expensive I open the bonnet up and see the negative terminal has come off the battery. Luckily when I put it back on it started up. It kept cutting out first of all, but its not all good. I figured it was the ECU that needed time to sort itself out. At least it wasn't the positive. having that come off and sparking on anything metal would of caused some damage. Sorry for boring people with my Saturday morning story. Suprakeith
glad to hear it was nothing major with the car just earth wire. and least you were able to pull over safely. i had similar problem last night aswell was chasing my mate in his evo 4 and went thought a deep puddle with hidden pot hole, car jolted and lost engine and braking had to to use handbrake to stop and pull over and when checked under bonnet the battery was all wet so dryed it off and all was fine and took her for spin this morning and all good
SilentAgro
There are some HUGE pot holes forming on all roads round here. Your car looks familiar too. Where you at a placed called Craufard Arms a couple of weeks ago?

SilentAgro
I was lucky I had my tool box in the car. The clamp was as tight as it could get but still not 100% tight. It was the first time anything like that has happened to me.. I was scared haha

letmeshowyou
I always carry a mini socket set with me for this reason. Very similar experience after an alarm fitting once.
SupraStar 3000
Neat little tip: If your clamp is still loose after fitting, cut some copper pipe (about 1" long) and slit it down the side. Then place the cooper pipe between the clap and battery terminal. Had the same issue on my nissan and this sorted it nicely.
JamieP
I had one of them today, first time ive driven the car in a few weeks, bottom pin fell out of my brembo caliper that holds the pads in, made a hell of a noise, pads rubbing against the bell, luckily i was just round the corner from home.
