fuldhat
Hi All Have an issue with my TT6, that when drive 4th gear to high rpm 5000+ then it is hard to get in 5th and 6th. But you can whiggle and force a bit to get in gear. Anything you can adjust or do to make it more precise / easy to get in gear..? Thanks
TheTurtleshead
What shifter bushes do you have in? If your experiencing a wibbly wobbly, innacurate shift, then it might be a case of knackered rubber shift bushes
Chris Wilson
The only thing that won't be expensive and a lot of work is, as TheTurtleshead says, the little rubber bushes that support the gear lever extension on the back of the gearbox. These break up and the linkage loses all accuracy. You can fit solid alloy bushes that make a big difference. Otherwise it could be something nasty inside the gearbox itself. If it were the clutch it would affect all gears.
fuldhat
The clutch is only 1 year old, and works fine. The gearbox seems else to work great. So I am also hoping it will be bushes. But I have bought original from toyota.. Should I have gone for solid instead?
Ian C
My second gear is starting to get a bit stroppy when changing at high revs so I'm interested in the solid bushes vs stockers. And how much each cost
Graham1984
My second gear is starting to get a bit stroppy when changing at high revs so I'm interested in the solid bushes vs stockers. And how much each cost Mine used to be 2nd gear as well which the solid bushes solved, It used to feel like it knocked going into 2nd at high ish revs so I was glad that was sorted, I was even more chuffed that my mate broke my shifter cradle but thank god for liquid metal and the fact the part does not move anyway
