Double decat, HIDs and MOT

I've just had my car MOT'd, and it's all fine, but I've decided to leave the 2nd CAT in place after the test while I do some research into sports CATs.

 

Do I need the restrictor ring in place, or should that be removed?

I think the ring gives the restriction of 2 cats, so leaving it in would effectively give the restriction of 3 cats with a cat fitted as well? I dunno....I dont even have a turbo! haha

Keep it in, turn off BC if you have one and test the boost? better to have too much restriction than not enough. You could always file it out until you hit 1 bar if that is your target.

I've just got my car back, and if your car did have a CAT, then it must have one installed. No more friendly MOTs!

 

They also said they couldn't find the RR, even though the chap working on my car knows what they are and has an Evo with a full Apexi racing exhaust fitted.

 

So CAT back on, and research into Hi-Flow CATs abound.

Oh, and another thing, my car passed with all the HIDs fitted too.

 

I've got driving and full main beam HIDs, and all hunky dory.

I've run the car with the CAT in, and except for the lack of a kick from the 2nd turbo, it's very pleasant indeed. Boosting just under a bar.

 

The exhaust is quieter now too and I like it
