KamaSupra
Whilst I've driven down the M25 motorway I always see a bridge near the M40 turn off with "Gve peas a chance" painted across it. Has anyone else seen it and does anyone know what it means?

Branners
It used to only say PEAS, that was it, nothing more. Then somebody popped the 'give x a chance' bit on it and now it is legend. Nobody knows why it says PEAS though. It has been there ever since I can remember, and I'm old now.

stevie_b
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-13524208, last item in the list. Rumour has it that "Peas" is a London-based graffitti artist. I agree that adding the other words presumably to spoof the phrase/song title "Give Peace a Chance" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Give_Peace_a_Chance) was genius. Someone on the internet (so it's got a 23.1% chance of being true) reckons the other words were added when "Peas" was up before Bow magistrates for graffitti-ing a train. This twist, if true, would make the additional words even sweeter!

Benzsupra
There was another one on the M40 / M25 exit that said 'Why do i do this everyday' but it been gone a while now... It always amused me on the way to work cause that's exactly what i was thinking. Maybe that was it's purpose...
