Engine Management light not working

Only just realised that my engine management light does not work neither do any of the light in this area (i.e ABS and two oil cans) I have checked the connection on the back and it is fitted ok and none of the fuses have blown. Any ideas on what it could be as I would like to run diagnostics but can't without this light working

I seem to remember that continuously flashing means no stored error codes (so you know that the light just isn't working). I can't find it on mkiv.com though.

I may be wrong. Where did you get your instructions from ?

Does the light go out after you've started the car (not in diagnostic mode) ?

Please help

It means all is OK, or if it is NOT OK, then the ECU isn't clever enough to be able to tell you what's up.

Cheers Guys.

Yes the light does go out when I start the car in normal mode not diagnostic mode. The reason why I wanted to get this working was I managed to pop in and see Leon to say hello and just to explain to him about my idleing problem. He was the one that noticed my engine management light wasn't working so I told him I would fix that then check the codes. I told him I thought it may be the Idle speed control but he said it could be a couple of things but not the Idle speed control cos they don't really go wrong. I am praying that it is something simpler because the Idle speed control is £440+VAT from Mr Toyota. Even TCB in conwall want £150 for a second hand one.

I had an idle problem with my TT, Leon sorted it out without buying parts.
