`aha looks awesome! even if it is a nova...

The days of Novas being the chav chariot of choice are well over. Still a few awful ones about, but this looks to be something special.

I saw a standard one on the road the other day (Sri iirc) and I thought it looked fantastic.

Its funny how these cars were ten a penny in the 90's - early 2000's, so you wouldn't look twice at them on the road back then as they were so common, now any old 80's/90's hot hatches catch my eye, particularly in standard form. I'd love a series 1 escort rs turbo or another 1.9 peugeot 205 gti, I loved that car (until the pistonrings went :( ). The price of all these old hot hatches is on the up.

It makes me wonder if my supra will ever be worth decent money again if I keep it garaged, low mileage and stock?

there was a mint standard nova for sale not long ago on eBay going for serious money! Off to see if I can find the link

Thats what I mean, My younger brother bought a nova 1.2 for £50 when he first passed his test, it had tax and MOT too.

The cheapest cars I ever bought were a £40 Fiat uno (from my sister, it was my first car), £50 Cavalier Sri (just needed sills replacing), and my personal favourite was my first of three xr3i's, I paid £100 for it as it was supposedly going to fail its MOT miserably, I drove it to a different mot centre, it went straight through the test with no advisories, to celebrate I polished the paintwork then hoovered the interior out and found £12 under the seats, I drove that car around for about 2.5 years :D

Those days of cars for £50 are unfortunately long gone since that bloody scrappage scheme :(
