Porky1978
I consider myself a football fan rather than supporting my local team (no surprise as my local team is Port Vale lol) I do however support whoever is playing AGAINST Man Utd. Its been all City in the first half and i am rooting for the boys in blue. Anyone else watching??
merckx
I mostly want all the teams who have billionaire owners who spent ridiculous amounts on players and wages to lose, Man City are top of the list
safcdixon
I mostly want all the teams who have billionaire owners who spent ridiculous amounts on players and wages to lose. BUT when thought about, that's half the premier league at the moment.Professional Football has been going downhill because of this for a while now. Havard
You are kidding right Alex? Why would you want a team that has been bought in just over 12 months to win the league? All it proves is that you can buy success. It also pretty much condemns any chance of youngsters being brought through to the top level when they just can't get into the top premiership teams. They then go to the lesser teams and wait to be picked up once they have proved themselves at other clubs. For me, this will confirm the death of football. City could afford to buy some of the clubs in administration and save hundreds of peoples jobs. Will they? No, one because of the rules but also because they put nothing back into the game, it's all take, take, take..!! I for one am going to start watching non league. H. safcdixon
Great post^^ This is the reason I watch the championship, league one/two and blue square games, also in these divisions the art of tackling still exsists

Porky1978
I just like seeing Man Utd lose thats all. Nothing to do with who has bought who for how much. As stated in the original post its whoever is playing against Utd, whoever it is, be that Man City, Stoke City or even Port Vale. I agree that there are far too many players that are prima donna's but thats not what the thread was about. Nice one City
CardiffSupra
Same, I absolutly hate Man UTD and their fans even more, None of them come from Manchester. Full of them in Cardiff half of them have never even been to see them play. So Yeah I wanted City to win too.
Graham1984
I used to love watching football but just got bored of it in the end.... The thought of watching a bunch of really overpaid retards kicking about a sack of wind makes me want to cry. Portsmouth makes me feel the same way too but on the plus side the losing and the worse seasons end up being the best one's ironically from a fans point of view as on game day Saturdays a result means more. I would find it boring to of ever followed a team that should just win everything all the time and the fans acting like it is the end of the world if they had lost, Surprise victories for pants teams always is better, Especially the drinking celebration afterwards. Ross C
It was a game that killed football. The team that built their success beaten by one that has bought it. I despise City and Chelsea. All the other teams have earned their money through their history. Just look at Rangers FC (not a supporter by the way) They have the most domestic titles in Europe and are about to go down the pan . Its just plain wrong
Porky1978
So if you were a mulit-billionaire and had a passion for football, would you not even consider buying a football team? I know i certainly would. History etc etc doesn't even come into it for these people. Doesn't mean they can't or shouldn't.
Ross C
Well why not buy a conference or league 2 side and take them to the top? That way the players will earn a place and the club prove themselves as a good team with big investment. If you have true passion for the game then thats the way to do it. Just look what Paul Lambert has achieved with Norwich with such little resources, they are a team that have earned a place in the Premiership. These big spending investors dont have a true passion for the game. They just want to be entertained and will get bored like a child with a new toy. Or just treat it as a business venture as there is no doubt that big money can be made.
