Josh42
Hi all, Looking to retro fit an active front spoiler set up to my SZ. Will I need to change the clocks or anything or is it a case of plugging and playing? Cheers! Josh

Josh42
Excellent! Have you done this?
LOGIE
I have all the parts and actually went to attemp it yesterday but the first bolt i touched on the offcoming undertray snapped (corrosion due to where its located, salt, rain etc) so i'll need something for removing severed bolts first. Josh42
Well fancy making a guide for me when you get to do it? Cheers pal!
LOGIE
I'll try mate just check you do have the wiring on your SZ already vast majority of cars do. It'll be lurking down below your drivers side headlight infront of the radiator. Small black plug. You might even see another smaller plug next to it. Its for a 2nd horn. The internal wiring will be behind stereo (large white plug for ECU and smaller black one for Spoiler switch)
jonc
http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?266007-Active-spoiler-TSRM&p=3352450#post3352450 I did a how too for someboday else a few weeks ago. Here is the link. If you have the wiring its a basic job
David P
I have retrofitted active spoiler into mine, the front of the loom was there but the bulkhead loom was without this function and had to be swapped. Be lucky.
Josh42
The spoiler I've got coming is from a Facelift TT6. Assuming I have the wiring there for the active spoiler, what else will I need?
straightsix
You'll need: The spoiler assembly The spoiler ECU The spoiler switch The loom (it may be present already - see if you can check beforehand) or you'll need to make up a manual controller. If you can get all the stuff and bring it over to Nantwich, I can help you fit it.
Josh42
So if I can get a manual controller, I won't require any of the loom? Or will I still need the wiring present? Thanks pal, may take you up on the offer! Cheers!
straightsix
If you have a 'garfy' type manual controller you won't need the loom present. I can make up a manual control if necessary.
straightsix
If you need a spoiler ECU, try Keron. I got mine from him and it only cost about a score.
Josh42
Ive got access to the lip and assy, the ECU, the button and undertray, just my car doesn't have any of the wiring present for the ECU or anything?
straightsix
You'll find a bit of info on where the loom plugs are located in this thread: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?74166-active-spoiler-wiring&highlight=active+spoiler+plugs
straightsix
Double check but as I said, no need to worry if it's not there - something can still be done
