Isn't 3 scoops of Protein a day too much Geo? I'm sure you know better than me but it seems an awful lot to me, i imagine a fair amount of that would just pass straight through your system? I would say 2 scoops would be more than ample, especially with the protein your ingesting through your diet as well.

Funny you should say that bud, i've actually cut it down. It uses to be 2scoops per drink. Now its 1 scoop per drink, i wanted to make a slight change to see what would work better TBH. And to be fair i've actually grown alot better. Thing is what one person needs the other might need double that to grow? Its a fine line of what works for you? little adjustments all the way. :D

 

I've not worked out what my macro's are for that diet, should be well over 3k anyway. like i said i struggle to get over 16st lean, so it could be i might need to address the food at some point?

i can bench 50's in chocolate bars. dont hate ;) just because your "jel" you wont be saying that when i go bruce lee on your arse! i once arm wrestled the hulk.....he lost

Its benching heavy weight and being lean at the same time. Big bulky guys can always push more, so if your lean and benching its always more impressive I find.

 

Anyone got any sources for diet information and advice and tips, I need some ideas :)

Would be interested to hear some advise. I have been climbing for a while and strength is a good thing, but being lightweight is even better :) Climbing strength is more about ligament and tendon strength.

 

Im currently 79kgs (12.5 stone) and around 14-15% BF. I can train during my lunch hour and then climb additionally 2-3 times per week (Wednesday and Friday evening and Sunday day). I would be very happy if I could keep/improve my strength and get my weight down to 70kgs. My gym in the city has a decent climbing wall so would like to include that as it has longer routes which is very good for my endurance on a climb.

 

Food wise, my diet is not too bad, but not great. I eat breakfast, 2x lunches (wrap with salads and a meat - baked potato with tuna), dinner. I take a vitamin supplement only....

 

Im currently climbing at around 6c-7a level (top roping) and v4 on the bouldering, so a good starting point. Would really like to get up to around 7c and v6 by the end of the year.

 

Missus is after similar goals, however the pain is that she is somewhere between veggie and vegan... :( very picky with food, no egg, no meat, no fish, no chicken, etc.

I take 4 lots of protein shake a day 2x powerbeck mass gainer and 2 x powerbeck milk and egg powder.

 

Interesting thread Geo and glad you posted it.

 

After a rocky couple of months (losing 1.5 stone, 4 gyms in 2 months etc) im back to 18 stone but now 16% BF, but being 6'4" i just still look like a lanky streak of piss :(

Neil lol bad times. I'm only 5"10 Id love to be 18 stone with the same body fat. height was never on my side. Thats ALOT of protein, for me I'd bloat out if I have more than 3 in a day and let me diet slip. I'd have to replace meals with 2 scoops.

 

I think it depends if your a hard gainer or not, and what your goals are. I'm trying to grow and lean, as I enjoy weights buy including the cardio. What your goals are will depend on your intake for sure.

I am just after growing mate, not too botherd if i put some fat on as i seem to be able to lose it really fast aslong as i am still putting muscle on, my problem is finding a gym that is actually open when its suposed to be, trying a new one in the morn so wish me luck lol.

Good thread Geo, I've been meaning to ask you for some advice since I'm started hitting the weights the last 3 months.. Not really sure what I'm doing at present but got down to a fairly lean 11st 13lb from 17+ before starting the weights. Back to around 12st 8lb now but really should seek some advice on routines!

I've though then you getting ready for a show Geo . ? I got 10 weeks left til my second one . Hopefully it will be better then my first one in 09 ,5th place :(

6am ECA 60 min cardio treadmil 4% INC 6.2 MPH

7am 2 whole egs 8 whites 100g off porridge on water

10 am 200g of chicken breasts veg mix

12.30 2 scoops of MET-RX Whey protein

15.00 50g of brown rice tin of tuna in water

17.00 2 scoops of Whey protein

18.30 50 g of rice two smoked mackerel

19 ECA

20.00 weights

21.30 200 g of chicken breasts veg mix

22.00 bed time

ECA? Can't run that in a Natty show bud.

 

I'd split the cardio up bud, 30mins morning, 30mins right after training. And get your heart rate up, 130bpm, makes sure your sweating. :)

 

Diet wise im looking through it, what the total P/C/F on all that, with calories?

But I all too often see people recommending this and that (at huge expense) but often seem unwilling to validate the claims of these products with a picture of themselves. I often think if it's just so great they may want to share such an epiphony.

As mentioned earlier, a photo can be decieving so here are some vitals from then.

Height: 5 10" (179cm)

Weight: 81.5kg

Arms: 15.25"

Chest: 42"

Waist: 32"

(all un-pumped as shown)

 

 

I have just carried on as i do, and am now ofcource bigger and stronger

Weight: 83kg

Arms: 17"

Chest: 45"

Waist: 31"

Thighs: 23.5"

Calfs: 16"

(all un-pumped)

 

All these strict diets seem pretty alien to me. I simply eat well in the week, but pretty much anything goes at the weekends.

Supliments: No powder,potions,lotions or magical elixirs - Just food.

At my largest (87kg 5 months ago) I had a 1 rep max benchpress of just below 400lbs.

This is me fairly recently.

Yeah, I have never bothered with the suppliments, but i've never really wanted to be bigger than this. If I was going to take suppliments to get bigger i'd probably just juice up. Your not wrong though, curls get girls ;)

 

For anyone interested I only train monday (1h 15min), tuesday (1hour) and thursday (45mins) - It's not alot, but it works for me.
