johnny g
Had another flying lesson today - and after coming in sideways for landing, I thought I'd put a few videos up of some epic pilot skill High winds in Bilbao (the final landing is superb) http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-17863501 1:08 is incredible 9PdUdaXDHm4
tooquicktostop
I had planned to learn to fly this year but brought a Supra instead, how are you finding it, are you enjoying the experience
ubersonic
Hehe, my dad has to do this pretty much all the time in his Cessna because sidewinds affect smaller planes more, their not really coming in sideways their coming in straight but the planes at an angle, its kinda like drifting for planes, really fun
johnny g
I had planned to learn to fly this year but brought a Supra instead, how are you finding it, are you enjoying the experience Am loving it mate. It's pretty tough mentally to learn the controls, fly by dial and view - but overall, it's bloody awesome. When you look down from the flying washing machine, you see how insignificant anything is! neil tt
Glad I wasn't in any of those planes, drifting or not
johnny g
Thanks! Just what I wanted too see before I fly out on Monday! Cross wind take off is ok, you just centre-line - it's when you rotate that the pants get filled

Animal
No matter how tricky it is, I'd much rather be in a plane than a heli in winds. I was going for my ppl years ago (until shit happened and I ran out of money) and I will never forget being sat in the cockpit while it was being fuelled and a heli took off about 50 yards in front of me, got maybe 15 foot up, inverted and smacked back onto the deck upside down. Nobody hurt, but it was an eye opener for sure. Used to really enjoy the challenge of slewing it down to land. Good luck with it all, dude. BazzaAlpine
Some awesome flight control there. There was some footage on the BBC about cross wind landings that was might have even worried me a bit if I'd been on one of those flights: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-17863501

j_jza80
I had planned to learn to fly this year but brought a Supra instead, how are you finding it, are you enjoying the experience Supras are fantastic, but driving doesn't even begin to compare to flying. It's an extremely expensive addiction, but definately one I plan on taking up Never done any lessons, but taken the controls plenty of times and it is just the most amazing sensation. A family friend was a European aerobatics champion, and he can make his little plane (a 6 seater he uses for his carrier business) seem to defy gravity.
