N-Mir
It's time to revive this thread lol My headlights (UK SPEC) have been fine for many years no problem at all. I normally clean the car and park it in the garage for winter. Roughly this time last year when I brought the car out the headlights were slightly misty, it soon cleared up but came back once in a while. I also saw small patches of brown stuff looked like the inside of a kettle once it gets old. Again I cleaned it to park up for the winter, took it for a drive just to get rid of all the water as well. Again this year the headlights were misty but when it cleared up the brown stuff was over the top section of the headlights and around the rings. Is there anything I can do or are they done for as in the looks department? How come some of you guys are mentioning warranty? I know your posts are old but even then the warranty expires after a year? Please help because it looks like my cars been in a fight and has brown/black eyes : (
Dnk
Pretty sure you only get 12 months warranty from Toyota, some seem to last a long time some don't. Speak to Scott as he refurbs them or buy new A brand new pair will cost approx £330 inc vat so not exactly crazy money Edited May 9, 2014 by Dnk (see edit history)

Dnk
Toyota, try your local dealer and ask for the best discount they can give you
KamaSupra
My UK drivers headlight steamed up last weekend "AGAIN" after washing my car, as previously said by another member. I tried the hair drier trick. Hours later it was like a fish tank again, so I removed my headlight and left it in the house for a few days to dry out. All ok now But it does happen quite regularly when ever I wash my car (Car is only a summer weekend car, so luckily it doesn't get washed every week). This is the second drivers headlight I've bought from Toyota because of the condensation problem.

If you remove it, leave all the bulb in apart from one, cover it in dilute washing up liquid ( round the seals especially ) Put the hairdryer up to the open hole where you have removed the bulb, hopefully the hair dryer will semi presurise the headlight and you will see where the water is getting in because it should bubble up at the leak. On my drivers side it turned out to be where there is a join in the seal right under the wing to bonnet joint. I stuck it down with glue and its been good ever since. N-Mir
I wonder if the members like myself who have this problem all use jet washes instead of your regular garden hose? I might try and get them refurbished depending on price and what they will look like after, if they can be put back to stock then cool but maybe its too much hassle getting the chrome back and might have to be a full spray which might not look nice. David P
The gap between bonnet and wing pours water directly onto the fog light bulb rubber cap, I have sealed mine on with silicone.
N-Mir
I opened up the fog light plastic to see and you were spot on, both has water/condensation inside but it's mad how its spread around the rings on the top and bottom of the light.
