SteveR
We had to buy a car for (When we're back, the rest of the car will be broken for parts - shout if you want anything from it, it's a NA.) So to the paint scheme - bearing in mind I'll give this job about 2 hours of my attention on Sunday afternoon with rattle cans or some tins of dulux and a paintbrush and then get bored, do you reckon it's worth a go? Happy to receive any suggestions but the Gulf colours made famous by the Le Mans GT40 but continued since might be fun?.. Can anyone reading this be ar5ed to photo-bodge me a paint job mock up together? (Pretty please ) Attached is a picture of our car, but this silver one will do for the purposes of this thread: More Gulf colours examples... http://www.topgear.com/uk/assets/cms/4687f6bb-bb47-44f1-bd89-396fff78788b/670x377Image.jpg?p=110203_01:43 http://www.pistonheads.com/pics/news/17443/aston1-L.jpg http://wireless-x.biz/lambo1.jpg http://www.endurance-info.com/2006_Le_Mans/00_Pre_Gordon.jpg http://www.crankandpiston.com/brain/media/2011/08/Gulf-Team-First-728x409.jpg http://www.f1sa.com/images/pics/2011_LMS_OAK_Racing_Gulf_colours.jpg https://encrypted-tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR3kKUelc9MsHBZoN6Toj1PZAOnnD2h3NUM4f1kiyGurZF1aPE0 https://encrypted-tbn1.google.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRljPIMXlM04wq2P3EonBP3iH9ojB9OJxSNKbdSrZ0O6A1QaDOi https://encrypted-tbn2.google.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSMkMZAmoDJX6E_Wy2zhxTKGsnz8rYf50mFVN766jGA8Xf-8i-dmw

SteveR
YES! they are some sexy colours. The lambo and porshe also did it for me That's what I think, but I'm not really an arty person so I'm stuck - I can masking tap and use a spray can fine (for the quick bodge purposes of this car I mean), but exactly how the scheme might work on the GS, I have few ideas. SteveR
fair play! let him Steve ... thats what its all about. you scrapping the car at the end? i know some people who scrap them when they are out there, then fly home lol This car is coming home with me no matter what - it's got my Supra's wheels on it! (The tyres that came on it were ruined.) The car will be broken for parts when we get back, Swampy has asked for a few bits, anything easy to remove and store will be stuck on ebay, I might take the interior out if my local blacksmiths can turn it into living room furniture (which I'd also ebay) then the rest will be weighed-in at the local scrap metal place. A slight shame, it's got 12 months MoT! It's also going to have no wheels, no exhaust (my mate and I made a new one out of slot-together parts that we'll be removing and re-using on our race MR2s once we get back) it's done 150k and there is a bodge crash repair to the passenger side rear door/arch where someone obviously drifted the rear into something (hence it came with a non-matching alloy on that corner!) All in all, breaking & scrapping it should be the least hassle way to get rid. And I will want to do that quickly, having a bright orange and blue car on the drive won't go down well with the wife or neighbours! I may also take the engine apart, purely to see if my understanding of how they are put together is correct. I'm bound to learn something. SteveR
How about the Toms Castrol Supra colour scheme? That gets my vote too I do lke that scheme too - good shout. http://webspace.webring.com/people/xu/um_10670/036m971.jpg It could be tricky with all those curves though, especially given my level of willingness to spend hours on it. Is anyone willing to do a mock up to see what it might look like? I suck at imagination.
