a98pmalcolm
Ok there's a hose pipe ban to save water. How stupid are these people to make this ban. So people will let there flower now die? People will let there cars stay dirty? Nope.... So I come to clean my car on my weekly basis. I can't use a hose pipe right? Well I will now rinse the car with a bucket of water which will use 4 times the amount of water compared to a controllable hose down. When I hose my car I use a technique to push off the shampoo and then the hose will be turned off straight away. Now I will have to carelessly tip water over it with a bucket. As I will now be carelessly tipping water onto my car I will have to be going back and forth filling up the bucket using 4 times the amount of water, which thousands of people will be doing. This goes for people watering there flowers, they will be going back and forth filling up there watering can. Rather than using just the right amount of water then turning off there hose! So many of these inconvenient derisions made buy companies and the government are retarded.. I can't believe the stupidity. Do they think people wont was there car no more, water there flowers no more? Jesus... EDIT!!! I think a few people have missed the point I'm making. I WONT be using more water on PERSPUSE but using more what as filling up buckets and poring water over my car to clear the shampoo will use more water than a quick hose down!! neil tt
Sorry, but do you think by you using 4 times more is ever going to help the situation. Or would it be better to try to do your best to use as little water as possible. Or are you one of those people that say "well it always going to be there so why shouldn't i use what I want. I do say the water boards could do a lot more to save water, but so could nearly every household in the country.
Dnk
Why not just buy the washmatic then you wont risk a large fine wont waste water, you wont get upset and do you bit to help us with our water shortage which affects us all Can also be used to water flowers or your vegetable patch £14.95 on ebay with free shipping Or you can get pressure washers that run off a water butt so buy one of those and then your not using any water from the water system
davis6110
At the end of the day your average joe dont use a hose pipe that much and dont use alot of water, the poeple that do use alot of water like farmers, car wash's, laundrettes ...... i could go on forever, they are still allowed to use as much water as they want ! i dont know about where you live but where i live theres probably more farmers and car wash workers than others haha

merckx
I think there are a few people here totally missing the point of a hosepipe ban. Without any doubt. Plenty up here, too many people down south.
stevie_b
"When I hose my car I use a technique to push off the shampoo and then the hose will be turned off straight away. ...." -- That's commendable. However I suspect a lot of people just leave the hose running whilst they faff about. "Agreed. That's the government for you. Rip off businessmen running our country and robbing our pockets...." -- the government doesn't run the water companies any more. "The surface of the planet is like 95% water. Whats the big worry. "ill be using my hose pipe. i pay my waterbill so ill use what i want" -- So when a resource becomes scarce, you use more of it to make a stand. The bottom line is using a hose pipe WILL use more water. The difference is using a hose pipe saves you carrying into and out litres of water to wash the car or gardening.
