fordy_alexsupra
Hi people, I have purchased but not revived yet; a second hand GReddy Profec B Spec 2 Boost Controller. I have a BPU JDM AUTOMATIC 1.1bar, the boost controller has a gain feature and I want to lower the boost for when I am launching in 'L' drive gear and 'D' Kick down. I heard the usability is great on this device but as a have a auto will it be some what difficult? al
TubbyTwo
The gain feature doesnt lower the boost (you cant run less than stock anyway) it controls how the boost is delivered and how the turbo spools. My last car had a Profec B spec 2 and its very easy to setup and use. If you car is running 1.1 bar with no boost controller you wont be able to lower it any further with the Greddy. Do you have a restrictor ring fitted?

Do you have a restrictor ring fitted? Ahh I understand yes I knew that before; confused with the gain feature and yes I have a RR and 2 row intercooler in process of fitting. I will like the turbo to be delivered slowly in the 'L' gear to stop wheel spin under wot and maybe I will replace the 1.2 bar RR with a 1bar RR also? Cheers
TubbyTwo
I would try using the gain feature, problem is afaik you cant "map" the profec B spec 2 for 'x' amount of boost in a set gear. you either have a high boost setting or low boost, usually A or B. I set mine to have A using near stock boost, and a low gain. Then set B with high boost and high gain for a real burst of power. Basically the GAIN value controls the turbo spool and how the boost is delivered. The higher the gain the faster the spool and the boost will be delivered in a big lump. Have you got the manual for the boost controller?

I just wanted some idea on the gain feature and how it basically works. Thankyou for the help, I want my boost just to shoot to the max because I hate seeing the needle draaag, still won every race so far tho ha
